The Wine

All Submissions are to go to Natalie

Varietal:

Grenache (red - not a rose or white).

Region:

Any country in the world.  That means there are multiple spellings of the word Grenache.  In Spain, for example - Garnacha is the word for Grenache.

Cost:

No limit.  Some might even try to buy a victory.  That will likely be pointless - as I will be competing…. but go for it.

Vintage (year on the bottle):

No requirement.

Requirement:

In order to have the word Grenache on a lable of the bottle - most regions require the bottle to have a minimum of 75% Grenache.  It is very possible that you could buy a red table wine (blend) that has at least 75% Grenache - which is acceptable too - as long as blend percentages are on the bottle.   So the lable can say Grenache (just like Cabernet, Merlot, etc.), or it can say red wine, blend, etc.- but the percentage of Grenache in the bottle (min 75%) has to be listed on the bottle.   No exceptions.

Motivation (From Paul):

Some of you may have come to the conclusion that competing in the wine competition is futile - as there is clearly a dominant GOAT competitor with the greatest number of victories since the start.  Although the GOAT will win again (and again) in the future - there is always “luck” and chance for the  less deserving to squeak out a victory.  So it’s OK to recognize the skill, dominance, longevity of the wine competition GOAT - and still try and dream of a long shot victory.  Bring it!
